Welcome to the Ashland Area
Historic Preservation Society

The Ashland Area Historic Preservation Society was established on February 24, 1999.  The Society encompasses the history of: Ashland, Locust Dale, Lavelle, Gordon, Fountain Springs, Girardville, and surrounding areas.  We are locals who have lived here all of our lives, out-of-stater's who have roots in the area, and newcomers who want to learn more about the place we now call home.

Through an active historical society, our goal is to establish a museum to house:

A gallery to showcase area historical artifacts and memorabilia.
A genealogical library to research and register local family heritage.
A public meeting room to conduct meetings and enjoy guest speakers.

We believe that preserving our local historic buildings and heritage is enjoyable, worthwhile, and in fact vital to the future of our community.

We cordially invite you to join us in this endeavor.  Be it as an active or supportive member, you are welcome and needed.
